In one week I’ll be flying home to the land of 10,000 lakes for my summer vacation. I’m hoping for some gorgeous, hot and sunny weather, and maybe even a thunderstorm or two. The weather in San Francisco has been so annoyingly consistent. Give me heat and humidity!
Other items on my to-do list:
1) Get Sebastian Joe’s ice cream and walk around the lakes.
2) Check out the new cowboy bar in uptown that Leslie is obsessed with.
3) Finally go up to my parents’ property in Chisholm, MN. (I have a feeling spending the night up there will feel like we’re in a horror movie; it’s in the middle of nowhere.)
4) Hit up the thrift stores in New Hope and Hopkins, because they are full of cheap little treasures.
5) Eat cheese, drink wine, play cards out under the pergola, and laugh a lot. Because that’s what we do on Maddaus Lane.
Counting down the days…
I’m so glad Dad will be accompanying us up North. Apparently last weekend he saw a bear, AND killed a bat with a broom because it was squeaking at him. Whew. Think about if it were just us? Disaster strikes …
