I spent my 4th of July weekend biking through Brooklyn, eating chips & salsa, throwing a football, and lounging in the park with friends. My parents spent their 4th of July weekend in their new house in the woods watching bears swim across rivers, hiking through Voyageurs National Park, boating through a few of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes, and playing with nature. Even though my dad got stung by 3 horseflies and his ear swelled up, I still think they had a better weekend.
