On January 1, 2007, I wrote out my resolutions on a post-it note and stuck it on my mirror. My motives behind this were simple and obvious. I look in that mirror 10+ times per day - if I have my resolutions staring back at me every time I admire myself in my warped, full length mirror, then they’re bound to stick!
And guess what? They all came true. But to be fair, the resolutions were not specific. In fact, they were so incredibly broad that I fell asleep at 10 PM on New Years 2008 feeling like I could check them all off as easy as pie - like, so completed in 2007.
This means that in 2008 I’m going to be hard on myself. I’m in the process of compiling a list of “2008 GOALS”. These GOALS will range from:
Subway etiquette: learn to find your zen on the train, even when people are staring and there are major delays
English major?: work on your spelling
Airplanes: update your passport and get out of this country
I think this year will be great - grand, even. I feel like I say that every year, but I really mean it now. I swear.
